Final Project

As a person who is still exploring different creative outlets, I believe that self-expression is key to making your art incredibly unique. That is what I try to get across in each photo I take: my perspective, my vision. In this specific project, I displayed the goings-on around a few different airports. My goal was to show the one thing that remains the same, no matter where you are: there is very minimal interaction between people.

I've been travelling on a regular basis since I was about 4 or 5 years old. Getting to our destination usually required a connecting flight or two, and as a kid, half the fun of going on vacation was being in the airport. My fascination centered around how the massive amounts of people, each with their own agenda, were constantly being replaced with new faces.

I tried to communicate my interest by confining my shots to just a few people instead of a crowd and by showing the lack of contact between strangers. Using the architecture of the airport, I did my best to guide the audience's eye to my subject(s) with repetition; I utilized windows, columns, tiles, chairs, and more. Overall, this series is meant to portray distance and isolation in a place where you are never alone.
