Payton Ann
Yesterday I went out and took some pictures before sunset. I bribed my roommate, Payton Ann, to be my model for these shots through fries and a milkshake (it has a high success rate in my experience). On a sunny day like yesterday, it was difficult to get the photos I wanted and I had a very small window of opportunity as the sun went down, but I'm happy with the pictures I was able to get!
I bought a tripod so that I could manipulate shutter speed more freely and have the capability of taking more creative shots like I read about in the text. But I found out, tragically, that it wasn't sturdy enough for my camera. A feature boasted on the box, where the piece that you screw your camera onto can release in a matter of seconds for a fast transition, became a fault when it could not support the weight of my camera lens. Because of this, it tilts forward and a bit to the side and the pictures are not straight unless I keep pressure on one side of my camera body.
Long story short, the pictures I took yesterday all focussed on making aperture my priority. I'm happy with what I was able to accomplish. It's always a nice feeling when you take pictures that don't need much editing at all! Here are a few of my favorites.
great photos Rosie, love the depth of field you got in the last two photos.
ReplyDeleteI love how the tall weeds compliment her height! My favorite shot is the third one (black and white/sepia).
ReplyDeletePro Tip I stumbled upon: if your tripod is not sturdy enough for your camera or camera lens, you can hang a bag of books, or a weighted bag, from your tripod to counterbalance the weight. :)
